Soldiers of the US Army Who Serve with AK. How the Most "Evil" Battalion Works
We used to think of the U.S. Army as tough guys in OCPs and M-4 rifles. But what if I told you that there are entire battalions and regiments that serve... with AK rifles and are trained to Soviet standards! So how are these units set up, and why do so many other soldiers hate them?

Why do They Need Wasteful Tanks if They are Destroyed by Cheap Drones
Переглядів 5 тис.Місяць тому
Today we see thousands of tanks and other armored vehicles burn down faster than lighted matches. What’s more, this is caused by drones, that cost only a couple thousand dollars. A logical question arises - why do countries keep producing and using tanks, that require millions of dollars, if they are now so easy to destroy? What vehicles can replace them on the battlefield and is it possible to...
Why did Russian Soldiers in Chechnya Hate AKS-74U
Переглядів 405 тис.2 місяці тому
After the creation of the AK-74, in the late 70's its shortened version - the AKS-74U - appeared. Many people love this rifle, but few know that during the Chechen war, the AKS-74U became... one of the most despised rifles among Russian soldiers! What is the reason?
Why is the AK Wrapped with Blue Duct Tape
Переглядів 76 тис.2 місяці тому
Compact and reliable GOWUTAR sights here: gowutartactical.com/ You can also buy their products on Amazon: bit.ly/3vH2HQ3 The blue duct tape on the Kalashnikov rifle has become a symbol and an integral part of the "real and brutal AK" image. It is used both by the military in the Middle East and by Russian soldiers. But what practical function does it have?
Why do Russian Soldiers Use AK-12, but the Spetsnaz Hate It and Use AK-74
Переглядів 216 тис.3 місяці тому
The AK-12 rifle was called the "fifth generation weapon", which would outperform the previous AK-74 by (!) two times and become the best in the world. But what do we see in practice? The Russian soldiers and Special Forces operators.. simply can't stand the new Kalashnikov rifle! What is the reason?
Who is the Green AK Given to and What do Cartridges with White Bullets Mean
Переглядів 120 тис.3 місяці тому
No, the Russians didn’t really design the green AK for the Border Troops! This is a myth, quite a popular one. But in that case, who was it designed for and why in this particular color? And what on Earth are those strange cartridges with white bullets that were given to Russian soldiers to use with the AK rifle?
Why do the Special Forces Use Small Plate Carriers and Soldiers Use Big Armored Vests
Переглядів 307 тис.4 місяці тому
A hundred years ago body armor was an extremely rare thing. Today it has become a common part of the equipment of all modern armies. But one unusual detail can be noticed here. Why do soldiers in the army wear large armored vests, while Special Forces operators wear small plate carriers?
Why did the Soviets Replace 7.62 Caliber AK with the 5.45
Переглядів 232 тис.4 місяці тому
The first AK rifle and the 7.62x39 mm cartridge were adopted by the USSR in 1949. But where did it come from? Why did the Russians switch from the 7.62 to the 5.45, and why did Kalashnikov consider it... a big mistake! And, last, but not the least - what new caliber was recently created in Russia, to replace the old 5.45x39 cartridge?
Why do Russian Soldiers Ride on Top of the AFVs and Squash Their Flasks
Переглядів 177 тис.5 місяців тому
If you look closely at pictures of the Russian army, you'll notice that soldiers travelling in light vehicles, are almost always sitting on the roof. But doesn’t that make them an easy target in any engagement? And why do Russian soldiers crumple their water flasks?
Why did Russian Soldiers in Afghanistan Use AK-74, but the Spetsnaz Prefer Old AKMs
Переглядів 316 тис.6 місяців тому
After the release of the new AK-74, many soldiers were delighted with this rifle. Carried ammunition became lighter by almost 40%, with the same number of rounds. The recoil was reduced, and the accuracy was better. At the same time, the new cartridge had better penetration of obstacles due to its higher velocity. It would seem that everything was improved, compared to the old AKM... but not fo...
3 Wildest AK Versions for Russian Spetsnaz Almost No One Knows About

The shortened version of the Kalashnikov AKS-74U rifle is the second (!) most popular weapon of the AK series, which is known to everyone who loves guns. But in this issue we will not talk about it: today we will talk about three of the wildest rifles, which are made on the basis of the short AKS-74U. Each of them was made in the Russian Federation for the Special Forces, and so - for many year...
Why did Navy Seals Hunt for Soviet RPD-44 and Wear Blue Jeans in Vietnam

Today, when we imagine a Special Forces squad, we think of tough guys in camouflage or monochrome uniform with a ton of equipment and top-notch weapons. But if we look at how the Navy Seals looked like 40-50 years ago, we will be greatly surprised. Why did they wear jeans during the operations? Moreover, from time to time they tried to get hold of the Soviet RPD-44 machine gun.. and used it! Wh...
Why do FSB Operators Put a Red Circle on Shields and Hang an Empty Carabiner
Переглядів 71 тис.7 місяців тому
Isn’t it literally… a target for a sniper!? Why do the Russian FSB paint this easily visible bright red circle on their shields? What is that trick about? And why do they hang empty carabiners on their body armor before every assault?
Why did Russian Soldiers Install Paper Tubes and Pink Stripes on AK
Переглядів 1 млн8 місяців тому
In some pictures of Russian soldiers taken during the Chechen war, you can see two strange things on their AKs. Their AK-74 and AKM stocks are wrapped in a strange pink band, and there are strange tubes on the barrels that are half-cardboard and half-metal. Why do Russian soldiers do this?
Why are Russian Tanks Lighter and Smaller Than the Western Tanks
Переглядів 60 тис.9 місяців тому
During the WWII, Western and Soviet tanks weren’t radically different in their design. At the times of the Cold War, however, things have changed. Why did the Russians start making small tanks, and the Western tanks turned into real steel giants? What was the key reason and whose idea turned out to be the best?

The regular US troops are the actual professional villains. They brutalize brown people for pay check. So that US corporations can get cheap oil and special interests.

Акмс underfolder stock , akm I thought is the same as ak47 only stamped reciever instead of milled one and a muzzle break that let gases up 45 degrees and the barrel didn’t jump up as much . Special forces only used it with pbs-1 , but in a group there are 5.45mm as well .

There're also similar units in China. We call'em "BLUFOR" for obvious reason though. They make other PLA units"hate" them too.Heard of a story that, during an annual exercise, red force soldiers were told they lost the battle as they got off the train at training field, because blufor just 'nuked' their HQ.

A weapon made to fill the need but came out shitter then then everyone think, for tank crew they need a weapon that can hit longer dist' but also remain compact, but solider want a weapon shorter then normal rifile but with same firepower and stable, yeah Ak 74U's two main problem shows right here, range way too short and the recoil are way too big, Just makes me think: What if the soviet design an bullpup rifile thet's for tank crew and CQC combat? and there we have the OTs-14 Groza and now we got the common proble mof bullpup rifile, So yeah it's hard to design a weapon got AR's power and range SMG's recoil and PDR's compact all at the same time.

Copy the American5.56, use new round in basically an AK platform design and get a meh rifle. The Ak platform was designed with the 7.62 medium engagement/velocity round(likely a German STG influence. The AK platform was never meant for long range engagements, nor high levels of accuracy. The only big advantage the AK 74 would be lighter weight of ammo, and less recoil.

Soldiers tend to be more front line direct open ground warfare so more armor especially when a soldier can just straight up die even if they are the most careful person out there but just have poor luck they are going to need as much protection as they can get, SF operate in fast pace in flankings, closed quarter action, where speed is more important which means less armor for better movement, and less chance of getting hit, when they are careful and not always in a free for all open field front line action

I’d imagine having plenty of ammo to pick up from departed muhj was part of the reason, when you’re involved in special operations you don’t always have to ability to sit tight and get resupplied like regular military does.

The answer is much simpler. Russian APCs are just horribly designed. Aside from being internally really small and cramped to host troops inside(look at any BMP that are built probably for dwarves), all Soviet APCs often have tiny doors which are often located in weird places(look up BTR) and a hit on APC by a medium size projectile often leads to the doors getting stuck, trapping the troops inside. Russians ride on top of APCs out of necessity and not for some really smart reason, and they take heavy casualties doing that. But hey, have commanders in Russia ever cared about that? People are disposable in their military doctrine and broader state philosophy lol

You do get a lot of experience. You're doing a rotation 10 times per year (along with a range on an off week usually) while the rest of the guys do one every other year/maybe once per year. It can be frustrating though since that is your full-time role. So Actual deployments are out of the question. But that's been the case for most units outside of SOF for a while now. It's still common to feel like you're "Missing out" though so to speak

Fallschirmjägergewehr 42 In 1942 the Germans launched the FG 42. It has selective fire control, semi and full auto. It fires the 7.92×57mm Mauser - a full-power rifle cartridge. The FG 42 is also known for its accuracy and controllability. It is possible to make an assault rifle (or combat rifle), firing full-power cartridges, if one is willing to look in the right places.

AKS-74U had its place, wasn't really a battlefield gun. Rather it was best suited in a PDW role, mainly for bodyguard work at embassy's and vehicle movement where a small compact gun was a better option. If you were picking up a dignitary from the airport and transporting him to an Embassy or taking him to a meeting the AKS-74U fit perfect in a brief case or under a suit where the AK105 was a little too big and the Vityaz was a little under powered.
